# Arsenal-linked Carlo Ancelotti edging closer to Napoli exit

Arsenal-linked Carlo Ancelotti is edging closer to leaving Napoli, according to [reports in Italy](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/napolimania-adl-stacca-la-spina-non-se-puo-piu-di-questo-allenat-13124).

It is claimed that Ancelotti’s future with the Partenopei is approaching a crucial stage.

Napoli have been suffering from an internal crisis breaking out inside the club this season and Ancelotti has fallen victim.

Club president Aurelio de Laurentiis has continuously clashed with players, leaving the Italian stuck in the middle.

Ancelotti and Napoli have got themselves into one big mess this season off the pitch.

De Laurentiis has been clashing with a number of key first-team players and his actions appear to be pushing Ancelotti closer and closer to an exit.

This comes after his recent [links](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/11/29/carlo-ancelotti-among-arsenal-candidates-replace-unai-emery/) to the Arsenal job, where he was previously considered when Arsene Wenger first left the club.

Napoli find themselves seventh in Serie A, eight points off the Champions League spots.

It’s hard to read too much into Ancelotti’s role in Napoli’s demise this season, but unlike Emery, he would be a manager that demands authority and respect at Arsenal – something the former struggled to do during his time in charge.

Ancelotti has previously done his best to distance himself from the goings-on at Napoli as much as possible, but as the drama continues to unfold, he may be increasingly tempted to move on.
