Worrall firmly on Arsenal’s radar as Everton and Newcastle join the race

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall starred in front of Arsenal scouts on Wednesday in the 4-0 Championship win over Queens Park Rangers.

And according to Football Insider, a Gunners source has revealed the club now have the 22-year-old ‘firmly on their radar’ ahead of a likely January offer.

Worrall helped his side rise to fourth in the Championship following the rout in London, and the former Rangers loanee is also attracting interest from Everton and Newcastle United, according to the Mirror, cited by The 72.

The central defender was the subject of a £10m offer from Burnley in January 2018, so any side contemplating a bid for the Englishman will need to increase that figure dramatically.

Arsenal need immediate injections of quality into their backline, and although Worrall may not provide that straight away, there’s no doubting he has the potential to become a future star.

He’s gone from strength to strength under the guidance of Sabri Lamouchi and is yet to miss a minute of second-tier action this season.

The Gunners would still need to bring in an established defender along with Worrall over the next six months, but it appears as if the club are extremely keen on the Forest man.
