Arsenal fans have hit out at Sokratis Papastathopoulos following the defender’s display against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Sokratis turned out alongside David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi in a back three in what turned out to be Unai Emery’s last game in charge of the Gunners.

Arsenal fell to a 2-1 defeat against the Bundesliga side in front of an empty Emirates Stadium, and it was Sokratis’ poor performance that had plenty of fans talking.

The former Borussia Dortmund man hasn’t done himself any favours in recent months, and that could really affect him in the long run.
The new boss, whoever that may be, will have done their research on the squad, and they won’t be too pleased with what they’ve seen from the 31-year-old.
Sokratis, who cost the Gunners £18m in July 2018, is edging into the latter years of his career, and he may well be offloaded over the next six months as a result of his poor form.
William Saliba will return next summer, and the next manager will also have Luiz, Rob Holding, Mustafi, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Callum Chambers available at the heart of the defence.
The club will more than likely be looking to add to their central defensive ranks, so we feel that Sokratis’ time at the Emirates could be numbered.
