Arsenal have made contact with Massimiliano Allegri over becoming Unai Emery’s Emirates successor, with the former Juventus boss keen on the vacant position.
That’s according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, who claims that Arsenal officials initially wanted Jose Mourinho to replace the Spaniard prior to his switch to Tottenham and have now made contact with Allegri.
The 52-year-old is keen on a return to the dugout and is already learning English ahead of a possible move to the Premier League.
Emery received the sack on Friday morning, hours after the club’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

Allegri ended his five-year association with Juventus over the summer and has only managed in his native country during his 16-year career on the touchline.

The Italian would bring a wealth of managerial experience to North London and a fresh set of ideas to the Emirates.
He’s one of the top bosses currently without a job and is seemingly keen on the Arsenal role.
The Gunners may well take their time before appointing Emery’s successor, but it could be wrapped up within a matter of days if talks go well with Allegri.
