It is an open secret that Arsenal’s board and Unai Emery aren’t in the best of times right now, as both of them face immense pressure from the fans to make changes at the club.
The Gunners have been struggling tremendously this season, and a game at home against Eintracht Frankfurt isn’t a match the fans are looking forward to because of Arsenal’s recent performances in all competitions.
To put in short, if not for individual brilliance, Arsenal would be sitting somewhere in the bottom-half of the Premier League table and struggling to bag points in the Europa League. Fortunately, they have two of the best strikers across Europe in Aubameyang and Lacazette, who rarely let their team down.
However, this is a golden opportunity for Unai Emery and co. to get themselves back on track, and a big win tomorrow can help Emery buy some time to prove why he is still the right man for the job.
Recent Form
Arsenal have been terrible until now and they are a bit lucky to find themselves just eight points off top four and also leading Group F in the Europa League.
Arsenal’s last outing in the Premier League ended in a 2-2 draw against Southampton at home. Their last outing in the Europa League ended in a 1-1 draw away to Vitoria SC, thanks to a brilliant bicycle kick from Bruno Duarte in the 92nd minute of the game to earn his side a point.
Arsenal last won a league game 53 days ago, which came against Bournemouth at home (1-0). Two scintillating Nicolas Pepe freekicks were the sole reason why the Gunners came away with a 3-2 win at the Emirates against Vitoria.
On the other hand, Frankfurt are winless in their last three games in all competitions, with their last win coming against Bayern Munich. Though they’re out of form, getting a manager sacked with a win might make for good motivation for the squad to take all three points.
Team News
Dani Ceballos is the only player who is recovering from a major injury. Except for him, Arsenal nearly have a fully fit squad to face Frankfurt. Sead Kolasinac and Hector Bellerin missed training on Wednesday.
Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and David Luiz will likely be given a day off.
