# Real and Barcelona battling to sign Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly sparked a transfer battle between two of Spanish football’s giants.

[According to the Daily Star,](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/barcelona-lead-rivals-real-madrid-20967416)both Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen to sign the player from Arsenal.

Reportedly unhappy at the club, Aubameyang is remaining coy on the prospect of signing a new deal.

Concerns over the managerial situation is said to be a key factor that is stopping the Gabon forward from putting pen to paper.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Arsenal need to make a managerial decision sooner rather than later, as it appears to now be clearly disrupting the squad.

The Gunners risk losing arguably their most important player in Aubameyang as a result of Emery’s position.

Not always utilised in his favoured central role under Emery, this is not the first time that reports have emerged about Aubameyang’s unhappiness at the club.

With Champions League football also looking unlikely next season, Arsenal will need to make a very convincing offer to make sure the striker stays put.
