Arsenal’s Frankfurt clash could be club’s worst attended Emirates match

Arsenal’s Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt could be the club’s worst attended match since swapping Highbury for the Emirates.

That’s according to The Atheltic’s David Ornstein, cited by the Daily Express, who claims that the meeting with the Bundesliga side could possibly be the lowest ever for a first-team game at the Emirates.

Numerous Arsenal fans are expected to skip the meeting on Thursday, with the Gunners needing just a point to advance to the knockout rounds.

Along with several Arsenal fans deciding not to make the trip, Frankfurt supporters are also banned after the club were charged by UEFA following incidents during their tie against Vitoria last month.

With a low attendance expected, the atmosphere will more than likely reflect the club’s current mood, flat.

Unai Emery will probably be given some much-needed respite from the Gunners faithful as a result of the muted crowd, but the fans who do attend will make their feelings known should Emery’s side struggle once again.

Another poor display will end with a chorus of boos from the fans who are present, and that could be enough for the Gunners to part ways with the Spaniard once and for all.
