# Arsenal fans think the club have dropped a hint about Ljungberg

Arsenal fans think the club may have hinted about who could replace Unai Emery at the Emirates.

The club [took to Twitter](https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1198935784952348672) to relive a famous goal from Freddie Ljungberg against Manchester United, which occurred on this day back in 2001.

Ljungberg is among the [favourites](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-consider-unai-emery-alternatives-20949733) to step into the role on an interim basis if Emery is sacked mid-season. After seeing the goal back, these Arsenal fans think the club are dropping hints about a imminent change in the dugout.

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie Wrong Freddie tweet btw. Check your drafts must be there one saying he’s taken over Emery as a interim manager (@DammitArsenal)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie Tagging Freddie but not announcing that he’s taking over from Emery, this is some disgusting trolling. (@wrightsnake)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie This better be hinting at him getting the interim job immediately. (@NgoloCazorla)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie Hinting at Freddie becoming manager? (@jackb1248)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie A fitting day to appoint him as caretaker manager until the end of the season, then… (@cdavison\_afc)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @freddie ANNOUNCE FREDDIE INTERIM (@AFCDylan\_)

### Read Arsenal verdict

Ljungberg has been heavily linked with the role and it would be a move that makes sense for the club.

Already in and around the first-team set-up, he’s somebody who will be a familiar face to the players.

The Gunners would struggle to attract a top manager to the club halfway through the season, espically if they’re thinking of a more long-term appointment.

Holding off until the summer will naturally open up more possibilities for the club to pursue if they do go on to sack Emery.
