Arsenal host struggling Southampton as they face off in the Premier League after the international break.
A break could not have come at a better time for both these sides. Arsenal have not won in any competition since late October and Southampton’s last win came in September.
Despite all this, Arsenal currently sit in sixth position in the league. However, this seems a moot point, as the Gunners are currently eight points behind Manchester City in fourth place.
But, football is a funny old game and all it takes is one victory to start gaining some momentum, which could ignite a spark in a team.
Unai Emery will be hoping for all three points against a Southampton side that is in disarray and who have conceded 29 goals this season, the most in the league.
This dismal start to the season means that the Saints are currently 19th in the league, one point off Norwich City in 20th.
Since their destruction at the hands of Leicester in a 9-0 demolition, Southampton have seemed to show signs of fighting back in spirited performances against Manchester City and Everton, but both of these ended in 2-1 defeats.
This Southampton side is one that clearly is suffering from a lack of confidence and Arsenal have a great opportunity to build their own confidence with a commanding display in this fixture.
We take a look at four Key Battles ahead of Saturday’s clash…
