Napoli may be forced to sell Dries Mertens, wanted by Arsenal, and Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly in the new year due to their worrying financial figures.
That’s according to Italian outlet Il Mattino, who claim that the Serie A side have suffered a €75m loss since the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti added two marquee signings over the summer in the shape of Hirving Lozano and Kostas Manolas, and the club’s overspend, along with their poor start to the season, could see them cash in on their two long-serving stars.
The Gunners, along with rivals Tottenham, have been earmarked as possible suitors for Mertens, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign.
However, it appears as if the Serie A side would consider a cut-price offer in the new year.
Meanwhile, Koulibaly, who has been tipped to make the move to Old Trafford, could also be available at a discounted price, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still looking to fix his defensive issues.

Even though Napoli are seemingly willing to part ways with Mertens in Janaury, we’re not sure if the Gunners will make their move.
They already have Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the books at the Emirates, and Mertens could have been an option on a free transfer should Lacazette or Aubameyang leave at the end of the season.
Really, they should be looking to rival United for Koulibaly, but it appears as if the Gunners are looking elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
