Arsenal urged to move for Leicester’s Ricardo Pereira

Arsenal and Tottenham have been urged to make a move for Leicester City star Ricardo Pereira by talkSPORT presenter Jason Cundy, the Daily Express report.

The right-back has been a regular for the Foxes this season, playing every minute of action in the 12 Premier League fixtures so far.

Pereira’s displays have helped Brendan Rodgers’ side to second in the Premier League table, eight points off leaders Liverpool.

And talking on talkSPORT, former Chelsea defender Cundy was full of praise for the 26-year-old.

He scored a brilliant goal against Manchester City, he gets in those advanced areas.

He is the perfect example of what a modern-day right-back is – they’re not just a defender.

Ricardo Pereira is certainly one of the best right-backs in the country, I think Leicester are incredibly fortunate to have him.

Cundy then hinted that the Gunners and Spurs should be looking at the Portugal international.

They paid around £20m for him but you think about other clubs that are looking for a right-back – Arsenal.

Arsenal’s always going to be that team that you compare Leicester to, and Spurs.

Spurs, their right-back is nowhere near as good. They just released Trippier of course and Kyle Walker moved on a couple of years ago.

That’s the sort of player that Spurs should be having at right-back.

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has recently returned from injury, and although Pereira would improve the Gunners’ defensive options considerably, we can’t see the club moving for the Foxes man anytime soon.

Tottenham may well move for the defender due to their issues at right-back, however, the Gunners look likely to be on the search for a central defender.
