# Newcastle fans excited by Xhaka rumours

Granit Xhaka is being [linked](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/newcastle-to-offer-granit-xhaka-exit-route-from-arsenal-x33t0lm2k) with a surprise deal to join Newcastle, as a move away from Arsenal now appears inevitable.

The Swiss midfielder looks set to move on after being stripped of the captain’s armband following his clash with home supporters.

Newcastle could reportedly offer him a January exit route and it’s a move that Toon supporters would love to see happen.

### Read Arsenal verdict

It appears that there are plenty of Newcastle supporters who would be keen to see Xhaka signed in January.

However, to leave Arsenal and join a relegation-threatened Premier League side would come as a surprise to many. You’d have to imagine there would be suitors in Germany for his services as well.

A move away and a fresh start looks to be exactly what he needs after his recent struggles at Arsenal.

There’s no doubt he would be popular at St James’ Park and that support could be the catalyst that brings the best out of him.
