Arsenal fans feel sorry for Emery after pre-Vitoria mood is revealed

A section of Arsenal have fans are starting to feel sorry for Unai Emery after learning the Spaniard’s downbeat mood prior to the Vitoria clash on Wednesday.

The Athletic’s Jack Lang was present in Portugal as the Gunners’ poor form continued.

On a rainy afternoon, Shkodran Mustafi looked like he’d won it for Emery and co after his late header, however, Bruno Duarte’s stoppage-time acrobatic effort meant the spoils were shared.

However, it was Lang’s write up on Emery‘s spirits before kick-off that had plenty of fans talking.

The boss cut a lonely figure on the pitch in an empty stadium, with Lang describing the scene as ‘massively, massively bleak’.

Arsenal fan page @LTArsenal shared Lang’s words on social media, and it left some supporters feeling sorry for the Spaniard.

Fans still want to see Emery dismissed, but it’s interesting that everyone is starting to see a major change in his mood.

It’s almost like he’s resigned to the fact of losing his job in the coming weeks, and his departure could come during the international break if the Gunners fall to defeat against Leicester.
