# Zidane tells Madrid to keep tabs on Arsenal’s Saliba

William Saliba has not played a single game for Arsenal as of yet, but the youngster is already attracting interest from some of Europe’s elite.

[According to reports in Spain, as cited on the Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1199496/Real-Madrid-Arsenal-transfer-news-William-Saliba-Zinedine-Zidane-Unai-Emery), Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of the player.

So much so, he has asked Real Madrid to keep close tabs on him ahead of a potential move.

Keen to strengthen defensively, Zidane has also earmarked Benoit Badiashile of Monaco and Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara as alternative targets.

Arsenal fans can be both excited and nervous about the prospect of Saliba being linked with Real Madrid.

While many have said it, this only further backs up claims that the young Frenchman is among the most highly-rated young stars in European football right now.

There is a lot of excitement among the Arsenal fan base about his arrival next summer, but the links to Spain will surely be a sign of things to come.

Such is the player’s potential, there will be teams across Europe taking note of the performances he is putting in for Saint-Etienne already.

For far too many years now, Arsenal fans have had to deal with seeing their best players move on to bigger and better things and it looks like those seeds are already being planted with Saliba before he has even joined up with the club. Supporters will be praying that he won’t be leaving anytime soon.
