Pundit believes Arsenal should appoint Wilder if Emery is sacked

Tony Cascarino believes Arsenal should forget about Jose Mourinho and Max Allegri as potential replacements for the under pressure Unai Emery and instead made a suggestion which may raise a few eyebrows.

According to Football London via talkSPORT, Cascarino claimed Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder would be his go-too man if Emery is sacked.

Man United job, Arsenal job – Chris Wilder? Absolutely. There would be a snobbery around football that would go for Allegri or Mourinho. But I’m like, ‘No, I’d rather go with Chris Wilder.’ He knows football, he’s a proper football person. Like Sir Alex Ferguson, Jurgen Klopp at Mainz, Pep Guardiola at Barcelona B – he’s shown what he can do.

While Cascarino’s suggestion about Wilder may be a surprise, the Blades boss is definitely winning a lot of plaudits at Brammal Lane.

Wilder’s men are currently in sixth position in the Premier League, just a point behind the Gunners in fifth, with the Blades currently giving anyone who tipped them as stonewall candidates for relegation a rather red face.
