# Arsenal earmark Arteta or Allegri to replace Emery

Arsenal could turn to their former midfielder Mikel Arteta or Massimo Allegri to replace Unai Emery.

[According to the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-identify-top-managerial-targets-20805995), the Gunners have their sights on the duo as a move to replace Emery in the near future looks increasingly likely.

Jose Mourinho is not believed to be on the club’s radar following his history with the Gunners. Known to have endured a sour relationship with Arsene Wenger in the past, a move is unlikely to be universally popular among the club’s fan base.

Once again, Mikel Arteta looks to be the front runner for the Arsenal job, just like he was before Emery’s appointment.

Allegri is being heavily [linked](https://www.football-italia.net/146020/allegri-favourite-bayern-job) with a move to Bayern Munich – who are now managerless following the departure of Niko Kovac.

The Italian has been out management for a while now and with an opening emerging in Germany, you’d imagine a move to Bayern could happen quite quickly for Allegri.

Time isn’t on Arsenal’s side, with [reports](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/unai-emery-given-month-save-20803671) suggesting Emery will get a month to turn things around in North London.

By holding out for that long, they risk missing out on Allegri but it doesn’t look like Arteta is going to be leaving City for another management job anytime soon.
