Arsenal once again failed to keep hold of a lead and as such, managed to only draw 1-1 at home to Wolves.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had put the Gunners ahead, but Raul Jimenez’s equaliser was deserved for the away side as they dominated the game in terms of chances created.
After an open start to the game where Wolves had the better of exchanges, Arsenal took the lead in the 21st minute when Alexandre Lacazette set Aubameyang up with a simple chance in the box.
After that, the away side took hold of the game and created enough chances to be level by the hour mark. But, they were wasteful.
Eventually, in the 76th minute, Jimenez rose the highest to head in the cross from Joao Moutinho.
Arsenal struggled to fabricate enough chances later on to take all three points. In total, they had 10 attempts on goal in comparison to Wolves’ 25. Says a lot!
Here’s how we rated the Arsenal players.
Bernd Leno - 8
He made a lot of good saves including a stupendous one to keep out Matt Doherty’s shot. In a game where Arsenal were expected to dominate, it was their keeper who got them a point in the end.
Calum Chambers - 5
The right-back was good on the ball and went forward on every occasion. However, he was getting caught out at the back and didn’t get much support in fairness to him.
Sokratis - 6
Made one important block to stop a certain goal, but was getting exposed at the back against rampant Wolves forwards.
David Luiz - 6
Even though it was not a very good performance, it was better from the often shaky David Luiz. He was involved in the build-up of the Arsenal goal.
Kieran Tierney - 8
Despite getting exposed against the pace of Adama Traore, Tierney dealt with the threat well and got forward at times. Subbed off very late on.
Lucas Torreira - 6
He did his bit in terms of recycling possession and keeping things tick over in midfield. However, he was getting overran off the ball and didn’t protect the back-line well. Subbed off in the second half.
Dani Ceballos - 4
The loanee from Real Madrid once again struggled to have any impact. He sometimes overdoes things that doesn’t help him nor his team. He switched off for the Wolves goal and didn’t stop the cross.
Matteo Guendouzi - 3
This was probably his worst performance this season in a Arsenal shirt. He gave the ball away too many times and didn’t work hard enough off it.
Mesut Ozil - 7
Another good performance from Ozil who linked things between midfield and attack. The only thing missing was the final ball. Nonetheless, a positive influence on the team on his league come back.
Alexandre Lacazette - 5
Assisted the goal and showed some good touches, but he looked rusty in his overall game and couldn’t threaten the Wolves defence as much. Subbed off in the second half.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 6
He scored the goal and ran his socks off, but there wasn’t much service up to him in the box.
(SUB) Gabrielle Martinelli - 6
Came on to add something different to the forward line but wasn’t effective in the final third.
(SUB) Bukayo Saka - 5
Came on to inject pace to the forward line, but he didn’t do enough. He didn’t support the team defensively as well.
(SUB) Sead Kolasinac - N/A
Came on very late on to have any impact in the game.
