Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that club captain Granit Xhaka will not be part of the matchday squad for Saturday’s home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Speaking at his press conference, Emery said that Xhaka will be given “time to recover the normality” after he was booed off the pitch during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and was subjected to vile abuse on social media.
As is now the norm, fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the situation and if seems like opinions were divided on whether or not it was a good move by Emery.
These fans were happy to see that Xhaka has been left out.
With all due respect for Xhaka … this is a blessing in disguise for Arsenal

However, these fans were not happy about the decision.
So now Arsenal fans know that if they don’t like a player they can abuse him and his family, and boo him and the manager will drop him
The manager is SPINELESS. If he believes Xhaka is good enough to play then he is weakening the team

In truth, Xhaka’s form has been pretty poor and focusing solely on the team, it’s the right call to leave him out. However, there is obviously more to this story than that.
The boos and abuse Xhaka received during and after the Palace game was appalling and those who gave him such stick should be ashamed of themselves.
This story isn’t going away any time soon though, and until Xhaka does get back into the team, it will continue to be a talking point.
