# Ozil joining United would be ’embarrassing’ says Durham

TalkSPORT’s Adrian Durham says allowing Mesut Ozil to leave the club and join Manchester United would be ’embarrassing’ for the Gunners.

[Speaking about the German’s future, as reported by the Daily Star,](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/mesut-ozil-transfer-link-man-20762517) Durham warned Arsenal about the prospect of letting Ozil leave the club in the near future.

> If he went to Man United and suddenly solved their creativity problems and they started looking like a decent side, how embarrassing would that be for Unai Emery and Arsenal?

Ozil is out of favour at Arsenal as things stand, but was brought back into the team to face Liverpool on Wednesday and impressed when called upon.

Paul Scholes recently [suggested](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7610927/Paul-Scholes-believes-signing-Mesut-Ozil-improve-Manchester-United.html) that Ozil could be the man to help solve Manchester United’s creativity issues and it’s easy to why he would be a good fit at Old Trafford.

However, he showed once again at Anfield that he still has a role to play at with the Gunners – he just needs to be given a chance by the manger.

Amid rising pressure from supporters, Emery may be forced to rethink his stance on the German’s place in the squad.

Arsenal, like United this season, have often struggled to create chances in the final third, yet they have a player of Ozil’s quality watching on from the sidelines. Durham is on the money with his comments, the club would be making a mistake by letting a player like Ozil join one of their biggest rivals.
