Arsenal fans urge Emery to back up Ozil starting comments against Wolves

Unai Emery revealed after the game with Liverpool that he may decide to start Mesut Ozil against Wolves this weekend, and a section of Arsenal fans have urged the Spaniard to follow up on his comments.

The German playmaker returned to the side for the first time in seven Gunners appearances on Wednesday, catching the eye in the crazy 5-5 Carabao Cup tie at Anfield.

Ozil, who set up Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ effort in the second half with a delightful cutback, was replaced just after the hour mark for Matteo Guendouzi.

The Gunners went on to lose a memorable encounter on penalties, with Ozil one of the hot topics after the game.

Emery was asked whether or not Ozil could feature this weekend, with Arsenal fan @ZR_7G1 sharing the 47-year-old’s positive response on social media.

As expected, Emery’s reply got plenty of fans talking, with many now demanding him to back up his words through actions.

It’s easy to see why numerous Arsenal fans are desperate for Ozil to return to Emery’s first-choice XI.

The Gunners don’t have a player like him. He ran the show in the opening 60 minutes and makes creating chances look effortless.

The German in behind a front three of Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a frightening prospect, and if Emery follows up on his recent comments this weekend, we could well see the four turn out together for the first time.
