Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has hit out at Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka.
The Swiss international has been performing well under the expected levels in recent weeks and Bent did not hold back when criticising him.

As quoted on Sports Mole, Bent said:
For him to be their captain, at the minute that’s just sending the wrong message. Yeah, he might be a good player but at the minute he’s not performing well, he’s not leading the team well.
What he needs to do is look at the guy next to him, in Guendouzi. If I was Granit Xhaka, I would be embarrassed in my own performance with the way a 19-year-old kid next to me is playing. He’s doing everything I should be doing.
Does Bent have a point?
READ ARSENAL VERDICT
Absolutely. Xhaka is meant to be the senior member of this squad and lead by example, with passion, determination and energy.
However, he is not showing any of those qualities at the moment and many Arsenal fans are calling for him to be dropped by manager Unai Emery.
Although it’s bitter coming from a former Spurs player, it’s the truth and Xhaka needs to turn his performances around quickly or else he may never have the backing of the fans again.
