# Bent urges Arsenal to act quickly if they want to appoint Allegri

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has told Arsenal that Massimo Allegri is the man that they should turn to replace Unai Emery.

[Speaking on talkSPORT, as cited on the Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-urged-beat-man-utd-20702286?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+daily-star-football+%28Daily+Star+%3A%3A+Football+Feed%29), Bent gave his thoughts on the current managerial situation at the Emirates.

> If they want to go and get Allegri rather than wait – listen he’s going to get a job, whether it be United or Spurs or one of them, Allegri’s going to go somewhere.
>
> Zidane’s obviously at Real Madrid, he’s struggling a little bit as well. So for me, being an Arsenal fan, I’d like to see him given time but I’d understand why they’d pull the trigger now because they don’t want to miss out on one of these top managers, and Allegri being the one right now who’s out there and available to go and get.

After leaving Juventus last summer, the Italian tactician has been linked with both Tottenham and Manchester United recently.

This would be a tough one for the Gunners to get over the line, but the ambition is good to see. Allegri is clearly a man in demand, as one of the few ‘top-class’ managers currently available on the market.

Tottenham have Champions League football to offer Allegri if a change were to happen during the season, something that could be key to convincing him to take the job.

What Allegri would install is a winning mentality. The football may not be up to Arsenal’s desired taste, but in the Italian, they would be getting someone who is willing to do all it takes to get over the line.

This is arguably everything that the Gunners have lacked in recent years. Style has always come before substance, but maybe it is finally time for a change of direction at the Emirates.
