Arsenal have received the most bookings for diving in the Premier League since the start of the 2018/19 season, as reported on GiveMeSport.
The Gunners were punished once again for simulation on Monday night, as youngster Bukayo Saka was cautioned by Mike Dean for going down in the penalty area against Sheffield United.

That is now Arsenal’s seventh booking for diving since the start of last season and Unai Emery will not be pleased to be leading the way in that aspect.

What can Emery do to cut this out?

Firstly, some of the bookings for diving, like Saka’s, have been hugely controversial. Many believed that Arsenal should have been awarded a penalty but Dean thought otherwise so it comes down to fine margins.
However, what Emery can do is encourage his players to stay on their feet as much as possible.
There also needs to be harsher punishment from the clubs and governing bodies, because then players will be afraid to dive due to the consequences. It is an aspect that spoils the sport and the quicker Arsenal can get rid of this ‘cheating’ tag, the better.
