VAR has been a huge point of controversy in the Premier League this season with its use in the division.
It was a talking point yet again as Arsenal faced Sheffield United on Monday night at Bramall Lane. Sokratis appeared to be clearly pulled down in the box, but referee Mike Dean opted against giving a penalty and VAR refused to overrule him.

READ ARSENAL VERDICT
It was a blatant pull of the shirt by the Sheffield United defender and Dean appeared to not spot the contact causing Sokratis to fall to the floor. VAR opted against reviewing the decision, as they have failed to do so many times across the Premier League when it’s come to a subjective decision this season.
VAR is clearly trying to stick to the on-field referee’s decisions as much as possible this season, which is admirable – but it is resulting in obvious mistakes and costing teams points. When they are as blatant as that, it may be best for the referee to go and watch a replay on a monitor to reassess his decision.
