Freddie Ljungberg has once again emerged as the fans’ favourite to take over from Unai Emery.

The pressure is rising on the Arsenal boss after an underwhelming defeat against Sheffield United on Monday night.

Many have suggested that Emery should be sacked after the result, with Ljungberg given the job until the end of the season and these Arsenal fans on social media tend to agree.

Ljungberg would seem like the obvious and sensible appointment for Arsenal to make if they were to sack Emery midseason.

He is already in and around the first-team squad, he knows the club well and is widely adored by supporters.

This would also allow the Gunners that added bonus of having the time to look around and find their next permanent manager.

Question marks would remain about Ljungberg’s credentials to be a long-term appointment at the club, despite being a highly thought of young coach – but an interim spell gives the club the option to look elsewhere if it doesn’t work out.

Would you give the job to Ljungberg until the end of the season?
