Arsenal will hope to resume their league campaign on a positive note when they face Sheffield United away at Bramall Lane on Monday Night Football.
Even though the Gunners haven’t been at their best so far this season, they could move to third with a win over the Blades. With key players returning from injury, this is the time for them to push on and consolidate a position in the top four.
However, the game on Monday won’t be easy as Chris Wilder’s men are a tough team to face, especially at Bramall Lane. For reference, we can take a look at how tough they made it for Liverpool three weeks back.
So, Unai Emery’s men have to be at their best in all facets of their game to get the three points.
In terms of team news, Alexandre Lacazette is back in full team training, but the game on Monday might come too soon for him. Full-backs Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are fully fit and one of them might start.
Here’s how we think Emery may line his team up:
GK - Bernd Leno
The Germany international is Arsenal’s number one keeper, and there is no doubting his place in the starting XI on Monday.
RB - Calum Chambers
Even though Bellerin is back to full fitness and probably has match sharpness, Chambers has shown great form before the international break, so he deserves to start against the Blades.
CB - Sokratis
The Greece international is Arsenal’s first-choice centre-back at the moment. He is certain to start at Bramall Lane.
CB - David Luiz
After a tough start to life as a Arsenal player, Luiz was terrific against Bournemouth two weeks back. The Brazilian is set to start on Monday.
LB - Kieran Tierney
The Scotsman is back to full fitness and is destined to get his first Premier League start for the Gunners.
CM - Granit Xhaka
The captain has been in and out of form so far this season. However, that doesn’t make him less favourite to lead the team out on Monday.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
Guendouzi has been one of the stars in midfield this season. The Golden Boy nominee is certain to start against the Blades.
RW - Nicolas Pepe
Things haven’t been smooth sailing for Pepe since his arrival to north London. He can kick-start his Arsenal career with a good performance against a tough Sheffield United side.
CAM - Dani Ceballos
Against a potentially deep-defending side, Ceballos’ imagination and creative propensities could come in handy. For that reason, he should start as a number 10 on Monday.
LW- Bukayo Saka
The teenager has been a star so far in his short first-team career. He has certainly cemented his place on the left wing as of now.
ST - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The Gabon international is one of the league’s in form strikers. His movement in the final third and ruthless finishing would keep Sheffield United defenders on their toes.
