Hector Bellerin has revealed the surprising role that he played in convincing Dani Ceballos to join the club on loan.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by football.london, Bellerin confirmed that he had given the midfielder advice about his next move.

My boy Dani Ceballos has signed on loan. I’ve been talking to him for a while and he’s been asking me for advice and stuff.

We’re more than just teammates, you know, we get on really well off the pitch and he’s one of them players that although we’ve never played together in the same team we keep in contact and when we used to meet up with the national team on the Monday we always used to meet up on Sunday and go for dinner together and stuff with a few other players.

We have a really good relationship and I’m very happy he’s going to be here. I’m going to take care of him with whatever he needs and I’m sure he’ll be a great addition.

Ceballos joined Arsenal on a season-long loan after falling out of favour at Real Madrid, so could his fellow countryman convince him to join the Gunners permanently?

It certainly won’t do any harm for Ceballos to have a good friend in the team like Bellerin.

If the Spanish international continues to settle in nicely and perform on the pitch, he may be tempted to remain in London and try to forge a future for himself at the Emirates.

There have been conflicting reports about where the midfielder sees his future beyond the end of the season, but Arsenal fans can take hope from the role that Bellerin is playing within the squad as he bids to become more of a leader.

Any chance of a permanent deal with surely depend on how Ceballos performs between now and the end of the season and also what happens at Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane seemingly under pressure at the La Liga giants.
