Arsenal fans excited by the prospect of seeing Ljungberg replace Emery

Arsenal fans think Freddie Ljungberg will be the man that eventually replaces Unai Emery at the Emirates.

After a tweet from popular Gunners source David Ornstein, he was inundated with replies backing the Swede to replace Emery.

Ljungberg was promoted to the first-team squad this summer and as a promising young coach, these Arsenal fans on Twitter are clearly holding out a lot of hope for him in London.

Read Arsenal verdict

It looks like Emery will be given time to try and guide Arsenal back into the top four this season, despite the mixed start the Gunners have endured so far.

However, it would be easy to see a situation where if the club were to make a change midway through the season, someone like Ljungberg would be on hand to take the job on an interim basis.

They may not always work out for the best but interim appointments are becoming increasingly more popular as clubs wait until the summer to find a new permanent manager. Once he’s in the seat, Ljungberg would have every chance of fighting for the job.
