# Premier League clubs in contact with Malen as Barca circle – Arsenal need to act fast

A number of Premier League clubs are said to be in ‘constant contact’ with Donyell Malen’s entourage, amid interest from Barcelona.

Over the weekend, a report from [AS](https://as.com/futbol/2019/10/11/primera/1570777219_542354.html) in Spain linked Barcelona with a move to sign the Arsenal target.

Meanwhile, [Sport](https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/barca-tracking-psv-eindhovens-donyell-malen-as-they-look-for-a-new-no9-7680082) add that a number of Premier League teams are trying to stay one step ahead of the La Liga giants.

The report doesn’t clarify if Arsenal are one of those clubs, but in light of these claims from Sport – do the Gunners need to up their interest?

It looks like this is another move where Arsenal will need to act quickly if they do want to seal a deal.

The Gunners have been heavily [linked](https://readarsenal.com/2019/09/22/arsenal-showing-interest-in-malen-do-they-need-him/) with a move to re-sign the player that they let go in 2017.

It would prove to be an expensive mistake, but Malen is now showing that he is one of the best young attacking teenagers in European football, with 15 goals to his [name](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/351354/Show/Donyell-Malen) already this season for club and country.

[Valued](https://readarsenal.com/2019/10/06/arsenal-prepared-to-pay-50m-for-malen-would-it-be-a-sensible-move/) at around £50 million, Arsenal will no doubt face stiff competition in any deal so getting in their early could be key.
