Arsenal quoted €100m for Upamecano – would it be worth it?
Arsenal have been told that they will need to pay €100 million if they want to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Gunners and several other interested clubs have been made aware that any deal to sign the Frenchman will come at a premium.
Ornstein adds that no Arsenal bid is likely to happen in January, but now they know the price tag, should the Gunners pursue a summer deal?

There are plenty of Arsenal fans who want to see Dayot Upamecano at the club.
With William Saliba joining in the summer, there is a growing feeling that the two could provide a long-term partnership to solve Arsenal’s defensive concerns for years to come.
Of course, football is never that simple and any deal to sign Upamecano is not going come cheaply either.
Upamecano is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe currently and with a WhoScored rating of 7.21 for his early-season performances, he is also proving to be up there with the best in Germany already.
If Arsenal’s transfer budget can allow for a move to sign Upamecano, he should be among their priorities.
David Luiz and Sokratis, neither of which have been particularly impressive this season, are not getting any younger and the Gunners would be protecting their future by signing the Frenchman.
However, given how highly he is rated, you can expect the club to face tough competition in any move to bring him in.
