Pepe’s effort will give him a much-needed confidence boost, which will hopefully prove to be the catalyst for the rest of the season.
He is yet to make a serious impact in the Premier League, which has left some fans frustrated with the club-record signing.
It was always going to take time for the £72 million man to settle, but some fans were hoping to have seen more from him by now.
Even though his goal wasn’t one that will be spoken about in years to come, many will be hoping that it will spark him into life in the final third when he returns to north London.
