Former Real Madrid man Hamit Altintop has backed Mesut Ozil to return to his best.
The German international has been frozen out of the first-team squad by manager Unai Emery in recent weeks, who claimed that other players deserved a place in the squad more than him.

The playmaker is still Arsenal’s highest-paid player and unless he proves to Emery that he is determined to fight for a place in the team, then there’s no way he will get chances to start.
Former Turkey international Altintop was close with Ozil and as quoted on Football London, said:
Mesut is a good guy who has had an unbelievable career. He’s always respectful and serious and that’s the base for a good sportsman.
He’s a young man and he’s allowed to make mistakes. That’s important. His current situation at Arsenal is not good but that is a part of football and a part of life. He worked hard for ten years to get his passion so I think he will come back.
Can Ozil really fight his way back to the top?

It is possible, but Ozil needs to show the desire, hunger and determination to push his way back into Emery’s plans.
His laid back style of play has not helped him in the eyes of fans, who want to see the Gunners play fast and furious football.
This is where Ozil seems to be left behind, he likes time on the ball but with the youngsters in the Arsenal squad, they’re all high-intensity players, which suits Emery’s style of play.
