Alexandre Lacazette looks set to return to the Arsenal fold following the international break, and some Gunners fans are interested in the Frenchman occupying a new role when he makes his comeback.
The 28-year-old has missed the last seven games in all competitions due to an ankle problem, but according to Sky Sports, the forward is hoping to feature against Sheffield United on October 21.

Lacazette was one of Unai Emery’s top performers in the early stages of the season before suffering his injury, with many heaping praise regarding his work rate off the ball.
And Arsenal fan page @PainInThArsenal shared their wish to see Lacazette in a central attacking midfield role in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe out wide behind striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

These Gunners supporters were intrigued by the idea of Lacazette occupying a deep central role and were quick to give their backing to the proposal.

The proposed team could work in a number of ways. A 4-2-3-1, a 4-4-2 or a 4-2-4 are all possible with the players selected, however, the 4-2-3-1 would be the most likely if it was to get the green light from Emery.
Lacazette has proven his all-round qualities over the past 12 months, so a deeper role in behind Aubameyang could definitely be a smart one.

Although he doesn’t have the passing ability of a Dani Ceballos or a Mesut Ozil, Lacazette’s tireless work rate and ability to bring others into play could make him a real success as a number 10.
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not the boss is willing to listen to these fans, but we think it’s certainly worth a shot one weekend at the Emirates!
