Petr Cech retired from professional football at the end of last season, ending a glittering career which finished with him representing Arsenal. As well as taking up a technical and performance advisory role at Chelsea, Cech has now signed up to play ice hockey. The 37-year-old has joined National Ice Hockey League team Guildford Phoenix and will, rather predictably, play as a goaltender. In light of Cech’s newfound sport, we’ve taken a look at some other stars who’ve decided to make a career change in the past.
