Muller unlikely to leave Bayern says Hitzfeld – is an Arsenal deal realistic?

Muller unlikely to leave Bayern says Hitzfeld – is an Arsenal deal realistic?

One-time Arsenal target Thomas Muller is once again being linked with moves away from Bayern Munich.

However, Ottmar Hitzfeld, the German heavyweight’s former manager, does not believe that the 30-year-old will be leaving the club anytime soon.

Speaking to Goal and Spox, Hitzfeld played down the chances of Muller leaving for the Premier League.

Thomas Muller at another club is hard to imagine for me. He is an absolute identification figure for Bayern. He has played there since he was small and has matured into a world-class player, has won many titles. But in the end it is his decision if he wants to do something else. You have to respect that.

Should Arsenal pursue a deal for Muller or is a deal unrealistic?

This is something we have seen time and time again with players like Muller, especially at a club like Bayern Munich.

Clearly unhappy about the shortage of game time that he is getting this season, all of a sudden he wants to leave the club.

Muller has been a one-club man throughout his career and is adored in Munich, so why would he want to leave?

The cycincs will see through this as nothing more than the player putting a bit pressure on the club and the manager, with Niko Kovac not exactly the most popular man in Munich.

There’s no denying that he would be a fantastic addition to any squad, but is a deal really that likely? We don’t think so.
