Arsenal striker Gabriel Martinelli is reportedly in an international tug of war, with both Brazil and Italy interested in the teenager’s services.
The forward is eligible to represent Italy through his father but was born in Brazil. He’s yet to represent either country at senior level but was called up to train with the Brazilian side ahead of the Copa America over the summer.

The forward has struck four times in two Gunners starts this season, making quite the impression with the Emirates faithful in both the Carabao Cup and Europa League.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to react to @LTArsenal’s post regarding the forward on social media, with many believing the Brazilian routes in north London could play a big part in his final decision.

Twitter: @ltarsenal Interesting situation. I’d much rather have him play for Italy only because of international break trave… https://t.co/oxAtSOsa6a (@JazzyToaster)

It’s no surprise to see both countries wanting the forward on their books.
At just £6 million, Arsenal appear to have got themselves a bargain over the summer, and if he can continue his fine form at the Emirates, both countries will continue to show a real interest.
As some fans mentioned, director Edu and centre-back David Luiz could play key roles in the teenager’s final decision, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the forward take his time before making the important call.
