Arsenal scouts reportedly had their eyes on Russian striker Aleksandr Sobolev this weekend, but the Gunners will face competition from Man United in any deal.
According to The Guardian, Arsenal scouts ran the rule over the player as they ponder a January swoop.
Manchester United are also admirers of the Krylia Sovetov forward, who has 10 goals in 12 league appearances this season. Would he be a good signing for the Gunners?

Standing at 6ft 4in, Sobolev would certainly offer Arsenal something different in the final third.
He would arrive as a nice alternative to both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – both tremendous finishers but can sometimes lack the physical presence inside the penalty box.
Having a ‘Plan B’ isn’t something that Arsenal have always been prepared for, so a swoop to sign Sobolev could be a good move from the club all in all.
There is no mention of a fee in the report, but you’d like to think that he wouldn’t be the most expensive option on the market, making this a shrewd piece of business from the Gunners.
