Arsenal will hope that they can return to winning ways in the league when they face Bournemouth at the Emirates stadium in tomorrow’s afternoon kick-off.
The Gunners won a valuable point away at Manchester United on Monday, before thumping Standard Liege 4-0 in the Europa League.
So, despite being not being at their best, Unai Emery’s men seem to grind out results, with some of their top players returning from injury.
On Sunday, they are up against a Bournemouth side who have made a good start to the season and scored a lot of goals. However, the Cherries do surrender a lot of chances at the other end, which should be encouraging for Arsenal.
In terms of team news, the Gunners will miss Alexandre Lacazette till the end of October as advertised since mid-September. The fullback duo of Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney started on Thursday and may get a rest for this one as they return to full fitness.
Here’s how we think Emery may line his team up:
GK - Bernd Leno
After getting a rest for the game on Thursday, Arsenal’s number one keeper should be back in goal against Bournemouth.
RB - Calum Chambers
Bellerin might not be able to play two games in 72 hours time. So, Chambers may continue to be the Gunners’ right-back in the Premier League for the time being.
CB - Sokratis
The Greece international was rested for the Europa League game. He is certain to return to the team on Sunday and will hope to keep a clean sheet at home.
CB - David Luiz
Another player who was rested for the game on Thursday and should be back against the Cherries.
However, the Brazil international needs to improve on his performances to keep hold of his place in the team.
LB - Sead Kolasinac
Tierney has shown good promise and fitness since his return from injury. But playing two games in 72 hours might be too much for him.
Hence, Kolasinac may continue to be the left-back in the Premier League.
CM - Granit Xhaka
The captain was rested for the midweek game. He is certain to lead the team out against Bournemouth on Sunday.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
The youngster played only 20 minutes of football on Thursday. He should be fresh to start against the Cherries. His form in midfield has been a positive for the Gunners so far.
RW - Nicolas Pepe
The club-record signing hasn’t really fired on all cylinders yet. Arsenal fans will be hoping he helps the team share the goal-scoring burden with Aubameyang.
CAM - Dani Ceballos
Ceballos started and played really well as he has been for some time now. The Real Madrid loanee should be given a start in the league on Sunday.
LW - Bukayo Saka
The youngster was rested for the game on Thursday after a string of good performances prior to that. He is line to start on Sunday and trouble the Cherries.
ST - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The in-form striker has been Arsenal’s life-line up front in most games. He will aim to continue the good work and add to his impressive tally on Sunday.
