RB Leipzig are reportedly hoping to tie down Arsenal target Dayot Upamecano to a new deal, which could see the Frenchman’s current release clause removed.
That’s according to German outlet SportBild, cited by Sports Witness, who claim that the Bundesliga side are looking to offer the defender a new contract, despite his current deal running until 2021.

The report also claims that the Gunners launched a bid in the region of €60 million for the highly-rated youngster over the summer, which appears to have been a catalyst in Leipzig’s attempts to remove their star man’s release clause.
But how big a blow is this in the Gunners’ pursuit of the star central defender?
