Arsenal continue their Europa League campaign tonight as they host Beligan side Standard Liege at the Emirates Stadium.
Liege qualified for the Europa League this season by finishing third in the Belgian top division last season. They currently sit in second place after playing nine games and are one point behind league leaders Club Brugge.
Les Rouges got their Europa League campaign off to a great start, beating Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes 2-0 at home. They know this will be a difficult tie, and Liege boss Michel Preud’homme may opt for a more defensive set up in pursuit of a vital point away from home.
Despite making lots of changes and picking a more youthful squad for this game, Unai Emery will be looking for a win. Arsenal were very impressive in their first game, beating last year’s semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 at the Commerzbank-Arena.
This fixture presents a fantastic opportunity for Arsenal’s youth to prove themselves, and will also be a great opportunity for Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney to get back up to speed.
