# Arsenal fans not impressed by Odegaard rumours

Arsenal are being linked with a big-money move to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil.

[Reports in Spain](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/arsenal-line-up-e80m-real-madrid-star-as-perfect-mesut-ozil-replacement) claim that both Arsenal and Manchester City are keeping tabs on the player after his fantastic start to the season on loan at Real Sociedad.

However, it is being suggested that Real are not expected to sell him for less than €80m. After hearing the price tag, these Arsenal fans on Twitter are keen to avoid a deal.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Martin Odegaard has enjoyed a great start to life back in La Liga and he is finally showing signs of reaching the potential that many have tipped him to in the past.

However, it’s still far too early for Arsenal to be considering moves for the reported fee.

€80 million would be a huge risk for a player that is still developing after a tricky start to his senior career.

With two goals and two assists already this season, the 20-year-old clearly has the potential to become a great player.

Real Madrid appear to still have high hopes for him, so would be well within their rights to demand a huge fee, but Arsenal should seriously consider their options before forking out that much for the player.
