“Get in” – Arsenal fans share relief after learning Tierney fitness update

Arsenal fans were sent into a frenzy on Tuesday lunchtime after hearing rumours regarding Kieran Tierney’s fitness.

The left-back, who made his first competitive Arsenal appearance in the Carabao Cup last week against Nottingham Forest, was left out of Unai Emery’s squad for the trip to Manchester United, with some claiming the defender had suffered a setback in his recovery from a long-term hip problem.

However, football.london were quick to rubbish those claims, revealing that the Scot will be available for selection on Thursday against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

The report claims that fellow full-back Hector Bellerin is also in line for his first start of the season on Thursday as the Gunners look to make it two wins from two in Europe.

The news was picked up by Arsenal fan page @AFTVMedia, who shared the news on social media.

And these Gunners supporters were quick to share their relief regarding Tierney’s availability.

Arsenal supporters would have been fearing the worst when the rumours began to spread, but they’ve shared a huge sigh of relief following this update.

Tierney looks set to become Emery’s first-choice left-back when he returns to full fitness, and following his impressive debut last week, it’s easy to see why.

The Gunners will be extra careful easing the defender back into first-team action, with Rob Holding, who featured for the Under-23 side eight weeks ago, only getting his first appearance of the new season alongside Tierney against Firest.
