Arsenal are thought to be in talks with star forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette over new deals at the Emirates.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Arsenal are hoping to offload playmaker Mesut Ozil in the new year, which would free up funds to offer Aubameyang an extension to his current deal.

The prolific striker, who currently earns around £200,000-a-week, would be in line for an instant pay-rise and would also receive a further increase if the Gunners qualify for the Champions League.
The report also adds that Arsenal have begun talks with Lacazette over a new deal, with the Frenchman’s current contract set to expire in 2022.

But would new deals for the fan favourites be the club’s best piece of business this year?

Arsenal enjoyed a fairly productive summer off the pitch by their standards, however, tieing both Aubameyang and Lacazette down to new deals would definitely be the best business this year.
The pair have struck up a brilliant relationship both on and off the pitch, and with the Gunners failing to qualify for the Champions League over the past three seasons, it would be outstanding if the pair committed their futures in north London.
The deadly duo will be key to Unai Emery if Arsenal are to break back into the top four this season, so having them settled with new deals will only help their performances on the pitch.
