# Arsenal fans urge supporters to back Nelson and share comparison with Gnabry after he destroys Spurs

A section of Arsenal fans have called for supporters to get behind Reiss Nelson after watching former winger Serge Gnabry terrorise Tottenham on Tuesday.

Gnabry, who was sold by the Gunners back in 2016, scored four against Spurs as Bayern Munich became the first side to hit seven past Tottenham on their own turf in their 137-year history.

The German’s performance in the week got Arsenal fan page [@LtArsenal](https://twitter.com/ltarsenal/status/1179141621729771520)talking and they urged supporters to get behind current youngster Nelson by comparing him to Gnabry.

The post seemed to register with these Gunners fans, who also called for fans to back Nelson through his current tricky spell.

> Twitter: @ltarsenal Yeah we shouldn’t give up on him, but don’t gass him up soo much to put unwarranted pressure on him, not… https://t.co/LG91nwlwaG (@John\_\_banks)

> Twitter: @ltarsenal The fact you feel the need to tweet this shows how idiotic and unreasonable football fans are. (@aren\_besim)

### Read Arsenal verdict

Fellow youngster Bukayo Saka’s impressive displays have increased the pressure on Nelson to perform, but it’s easy to forget he’s still just 19 years of age.

Maybe Arsenal fans were expecting too much too soon from Nelson following his impressive loan spell with Hoffenheim last season, where he showed he has the ability to reach the top level.

Of course, the Premier League is completely different to the Bundesliga, but we’re sure Arsenal fans will see the best of Nelson over the coming years, they just have to stick with him through his bad patch.

If they don’t and Arsenal officials decide to cash in on the youngster, they may see a repeat of Gnabry’s impressive rise to the top.
