United join Szoboszlai race – why the Gunners need to secure the midfielder’s services

Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai, according to Football Insider

The report suggests that the Red Devils will have officials at Anfield to watch the impressive midfielder in action for RB Salzburg against Liverpool on Wednesday, with the Gunners also expected to have scouts on Merseyside.

Italian giants Juventus, Inter Milan and Lazio have all registered their interest in the teenager’s services, while Manchester City and Chelsea are also thought to be tracking the Hungary international’s situation.

Salzburg valued their star midfielder in the region of £15 million over the summer, but that figure could rise significantly with a plethora of European giants now keen on the youngster.

But should the Gunners battle United in the new year for Szoboszlai’s services?

We see it as an opportunity that shouldn’t be passed up on.

Szoboszlai has continued his fine form from last season into the current campaign and is rightly regarded as one of Europe’s best young talents.

Unai Emery doesn’t really have a player like Szoboszlai in his squad. He could be compared to Dani Ceballos, however, the teenager’s ability to make late goalscoring runs into the area has left many seeing similarities with former Gunners star Aaron Ramsey.

Szoboszlai’s price will more than likely increase in the new year, but with Mesut Ozil frozen out by Emery and Ceballos set to head back to Real Madrid next summer, securing the Hungarian appears to be a must for the Gunners.
