Arsenal fans react as Keane slams Pepe’s performance against United

Roy Keane has slammed Nicolas Pepe for the start he has made to his Arsenal career.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football coverage, the former Manchester United man was not impressed with what he has seen so far from the player.

Pepe’s early-season struggles continued at Old Trafford, with the Ivorian simply unable to impact the game, but were Keane’s comments fair? These Arsenal fans on social media have been giving their verdict and there are plenty that seem to agree with him.

The 24-year-old has certainly struggled to make an impact in the Premier League since arriving from Lille.

Just the one goal and one assist in seven Premier League appearances this season, Pepe is taking his time to adjust to the demands of English football.

This is something we have seen time and time again with players arriving from Ligue 1. It does take time for them to get up to speed and Arsenal have to be patient with the player.

Given the money that they spent on him, you can imagine that they will be and the club can take hope from some of the previous players who have moved from France.

In similar positions to Pepe, both Eden Hazard and Riyad Mahrez played in France before moving to England. They also took time to really show their best form in the top flight, so Arsenal fans and the club must focus on the bigger picture and hope that the best is yet to come from Pepe.
