# Arsenal fans want Xhaka dropped for United clash

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka turned 27 yesterday and the club took to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

The [club posted a video](https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1177494332577763328) of the midfielder’s goal against Manchester United last season to celebrate his special day ahead of Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.

However, these Arsenal fans were all saying the same thing as they responded in numbers to the video.

> Twitter: @Arsenal @premierleague Just no\
> Don’t praise him (@premiumgoals)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @premierleague Drop Xhaka against Man Utd on Monday night (@IK\_Chukwurah)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @premierleague Thats nice, now dont dare start him in another game for this club ?? (@oSIM0o)

> Twitter: @Arsenal @premierleague Best wishes to him but start Torreira, Bellerin, Tierney and Holding guys. (@Santi\_Classorla)

### Read Arsenal verdict

As birthday messages go, this isn’t exactly what Xhaka would’ve been hoping to read on his special day.

Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, it doesn’t look like Xhaka will be dropping out of the team anytime soon.

On Friday, it was [revealed](https://readarsenal.com/2019/09/27/xhaka-named-as-arsenals-permanent-captain-and-fans-are-furious/) that he will be named as the club captain for the season – a decision that didn’t go down particularly well.

Emery clearly sees something in the player during the week that supporters are missing and the decision to give him the armband is a clear sign he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
