Rob Holding enjoyed a brilliant return to action with the Gunners in the week, and Arsenal fans have now urged Unai Emery to start the defender against Manchester United on Monday.
On his first competitive appearance in 10 months, Holding played alongside Shkodran Mustafi against Nottingham Forest, with the Gunners running out 5-0 winners to book their place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
Holding captained the side for the final 20 minutes following Mesut Ozil’s substitution and headed home Arsenal’s second shortly after receiving the armband.

And James Benge revealed that the defender completed all but one of his 73 passes on Tuesday, which led to plenty of praise from these Gunners fans, who called for Holding to start at Old Trafford.

It is a huge game for both Emery and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and although we think Holding should play, we can’t see the Spaniard giving the 24-year-old the nod.
He’s had just one competitive match to build up his match sharpness, and a start against United in a vital game could be seen as a risk Emery isn’t willing to take.
There’s no doubting that the Englishman will play a key role in the season going forward, and if both David Luiz and Sokratis continue to struggle, Holding will more than likely be handed a chance to make one of the centre-back roles his own.
