Arsenal have learned that Emile Smith Rowe will be sidelined for two weeks after being forced off with a head injury against Nottingham Forest.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners will be taking ‘extra caution’ following his concussion due to the player’s tender age.
As per FIFA’s protocol with regards to concussion injuries, a player cannot return for at least six days after the incident but given Smith Rowe’s age, Arsenal will more than double that.
What does this mean for Smith Rowe going forward?

It’s a huge blow for the player but one that the club simply have to take.
Concussion injuries are a rising problem in football and it’s not a situation that the club will want to take half measures on.
In terms of his football, the report claims that he had been due to play some part against Standard Liege in the Europa League – a game that he will now have to miss.
This will no doubt come as a huge frustration for the player. After his injury concerns in Germany last season, he’ll feel like it’s just one problem after another.
Smith Rowe will need to hit the ground running upon his return to force his way back into the team. He’s a player that can certainly add something to the squad and his quality has been clear to see in the moments where he has been given a chance.
