# Arsenal fans are desperate for Ozil to feature against Forest

Mesut Ozil has only turned out once for the Gunners this season, which has led to numerous Arsenal fans calling for the 30-year-old to start against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

The creative playmaker’s only appearance came in the 2-2 draw with Watford earlier this month, with Ozil failing to come off the bench against both Tottenham and Aston Villa.

Managers tend to mix up their squads in domestic cup competitions, and Unai Emery looks set to do the same against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Arsenal fan account [@LTArsenal](https://twitter.com/ltarsenal/status/1176084817831579648) shared their preferred Gunners side for the midweek clash, with plenty of youth on show.

One name missing from the proposed side was Ozil, and these Arsenal fans were quick to reply to the team above, calling for the German to feature at the Emirates.

> Twitter: @ltarsenal Play Ozil. He’s on that massive wage bill, so why not play him (@KSanghera01)

> Twitter: @ltarsenal I will play Ozil and Mustafi. Need some experience (@teamio77)

### Read Arsenal verdict

After not featuring at the weekend, surely Emery has to hand the German a start against Forest?

Sabri Lamouchi’s side, who are undefeated in eight, will be no pushovers, so having Ozil’s experience and quality in behind the front line will be crucial.

It will indeed more than likely be a young Gunners side who turn out on Tuesday, but whether or not Emery decides to hand Ozil his second start of the season remains to be seen.

If he doesn’t, and the Gunners fall to a shock defeat, the pressure will continue to mount on the Spaniard, and the calls for Ozil will only get louder.
